Twilio has launched a private connection between its cloud communications service and an enterprise’s on-premise network called Twilio Interconnect.
The service is akin to a private cloud connection in a hybrid deployment. For Twilio, Interconnect can be a service that embeds it into more enterprise networks.
According to Twilio access via Interconnect can be provided via the following:
- A physical high-speed connection to Twilio.
- Multiprotocol Layer Switching, which will connect to Twilio via a private network.
- Amazon Web Services through a connection on Amazon VPC for no additional cost.
- Virtual private network, which connects to Twilio via a secure private tunnel.
With the service, Twilio will have more ways to support customers in regulated industries like healthcare and financial services.
